welcome to ice dragon ice!

Nobody throws a party like New Orleans and the Gulf South. In fact, we are so good at it, that the world comes to us to see how it’s done. And the food! New Orleans is home to hundreds of renowned chefs and restaurants. Throw a rock in the French Quarter and you have a good chance at hitting a world class establishment (or an amazing chef 😱) Plus, rumor has it that some people also come to Nola for the cocktails 🍹😂 And don’t get me started on the parades!

So if you’re throwing a party in a place where the standards are so high, shouldn’t you have high standards for the whole shindig? Your party shouldn’t be just another excuse to eat and drink amongst a thousand other excuses. Make it an event to remember and one your guests will talk about long after. And give them something amazing to take pictures next to, or an unforgettable seafood display, or even a crazy way to take a shot or two! Oh, wait, I know: an ice sculpture from ice dragon ice!

why the ice sculptor makes a difference

If you’re planning a really SPECIAL party, you don’t just go through the Popeye’s drive-thru for a few boxes of chicken. Instead, you pick an awesome hotel or restaurant, or find a great chef or caterer to make sure the food is all that! When it comes to drinks, you don’t just grab a few 12 packs of Abita and a bottle of Taaka, you make sure your guests have a full bar to sample. So when it comes to the ice sculpture, don’t pick just any guy that says they can take a chainsaw to a big block of ice.

I (Dawson List) have over 2 decades of experience making ice sculptures for New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and much of the rest of the Gulf South. Along the way, I’ve earned national and international awards and recognitions for my ice sculpting. While developing my own unique take on ice sculptures, I’ve incorporated a lot of New Orleans into my design style. My ice sculptures can be that special wow factor that you’re probably looking for to set your event apart and make it more than just another party. Talk to us about your concepts and ideas and we can bring them to ice!

Make sure to check out our extensive galleries (under “our sculptures”) for lots of ideas for your special events. And keep coming back, because this website is nothing if not a work in progress. I try to work on it every day and we figure it will be many months before it’s mostly complete! In particular, you can check out a couple of our specialties: ice portraits and shrimp luges. Both of these types of ice sculptures will give you an idea of just how far you can go with ice art at your event!

Finally, the Covid-19 pandemic hasn’t put an end to our ice sculpting! While we await the opportunity to create many more ice sculptures for New Orleans and Baton Rouge events, we still spend time in the freezer ❄️ To see what we’ve been working on, take a look at our new sister site, nolaice.art, or go to the ice art prints gallery.
