The Legend of Louie

This is a very large competition sculpture done outside over a three day period at temperatures of twenty degrees below zero (Fahrenheit). The international ice carving competition was in Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada. The sculpture depicts a fictional? story of a lake monster in nearby Lake Louise. The lake monster (Louie) is breaking up thru the ice to attack an ice fisherman. The piece stands over eight feet tall and won the People's Choice Award. Dawson List of Ice Dragon teamed with Montana ice sculptor Scott Nagel to create this sculpture.
