This mermaid earned Dawson List and ACF Ice Carving Gold Medal at a competition in St. Augustine, Florida in 2002. The sculpture depicts a mermaid reaching towards a delicate seahorse and was completed in three hours at temperatures well above freezing. The sculpture was carved from a single 300 lb. block of ice.
