This photo shows the starting point for an ice carving: the design. We have two pieces of banner paper that are cut and marked according to the size of an ice block. The design is then blown up to the proper size using an overhead projector and black markers. These piece of paper will be applied to the ice and used as guides for cutting the American Eagle sculpture. The black dots are magnets used to keep the paper on the wall.
